The European Commission has launched “Re-openEU”, a web platform with certain travel information to help get tourism going again in safety in the EU in the post-COVID period.
The platform provides real time information about borders, means of transport, travel restrictions and safety and public health measures, such as those regarding social distancing the use of protective masks, to make it possible to confidently plan a trip.
The availability of the information, nevertheless, depends on the member States. Being as free movement and transborder travel are fundamental for tourism, an interactive map will be available for each EU member State giving updates on the national measures and advice for visitors.
As a result, Europeans will be able to obtain country-specific information.
The information is frequently updated and available in 24 languages for people’s convenience.
